Description

Period: Regency/Romantic

Description: The square cut, drop-shouldered style, View A, is the most familiar to us as the pioneer shirt. It has a detachable collar. View B is dated in the 1840’s but was also fashionable in the 1860’s because it features set-in sleeves. 1870’s re-enactors can wear it, but the collar would be inappropriate. Both of these shirts were made of white cotton and linen, but while researching the similar shirts it was discovered that they were also made of common calico with white detachable collars and sometimes white cuffs. A cravat pattern is included.
